Governance
Reviewing and Supporting Governance to support Boards, partnerships, and organisations to lead clarity and shared purpose.
Making governance meaningful – creating confident Boards, open conversations and strong partnerships.
Good governance isn’t just about Board meetings, policies and paperwork – it’s about people, purpose and how things get done.
At Miova, we believe that how things are done sets the tone for what gets done. That’s why we help organisations, partnerships and places build strong, trusting and effective governance – the kind that supports collaboration, sparks conversations, and gives everyone clarity and confidence in direction.
You may be a community organisation wanting to reflect and refresh on how you organise and lead; or an Active Partnership or Leisure Trust looking to strengthen how the Board works effectively; or a cross sectoral partnership wanting to build a new form of Board level collaboration, remaining true to your shared purpose and stronger connections while ensuring accountability – we bring insight, experience and a supportive approach to help you see things differently and make good governance feel meaningful, practical and energising.
Why it matters
Strong governance builds the foundation for lasting change. It gives clarity of purpose, strengthens relationships, and creates confidence in how decisions are made.
When governance is open, inclusive and values-led, it enables Boards and partnerships to focus on what matters most – people, purpose and impact. Creating the right environment for innovation and learning, helping organisations and places adapt, grow and lead with integrity.
How we can help
Every organisation and place is different, our approach combines assurance on governance practice with insight into culture and relationships. We can support with:
- Governance Reviews – providing a clear, independent view of how your governance is working, highlighting strengths and identifying opportunities to evolve.
- Governance Support – helping you implement more effective ways of working, build trust, and create confident, effective leadership together.
- Governance Training – a short session that can be tailored to your needs, covering the legal obligations and responsibilities of the Board, the respective roles of the Executive and Non-Executive (or Trustee), hallmarks of good practice, routines and rhythms.
- Board facilitation – develop bespoke workshops to enable the Board to address particularly complex, difficult or persistent issues.
